NASCAR Day is Friday, May 18th!

In recognition of the thousands of homeless dogs and cats in Mecklenburg County, the Humane Society of Charlotte is hosting its largest annual fundraiser, the Pet Palooza dog walk, Kennelly 5K run and pet festival to support the organization’s mission. MUSIC ON THE MOUNTAINTOP ANNOUNCES DATES FOR 5TH ANNUAL 3-DAY MUSIC FESTIVAL IN BOONE, NORTH CAROLINA AUGUST 24-26, 2012

Partnership with Railroad Earth To Bring Added Creative To Festival

Tickets On Sale Friday, April 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. EST

Music On the Mountaintop, the annual music festival outside Boone, North Carolina has announced that the eclectic festival will return this August 24-26, 2012 as Railroad Earth's Music on the Mountaintop. Celebrating its fifth year, Music on the Mountaintop is expanding to include three full days of music, including two nights of Railroad Earth and other special events on Sunday with the band. Having played the previous two Music on the Mountaintop festivals the Americana-based band will be taking on a bigger role, helping to curate the lineup for 2012. More artists and festival details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Criterium promises to be one of the most exciting sports events in Charlotte

On April 14th, 2012, the Men's 50-mile twilight criterium and the Women's 25-mile criterium will be held on the streets of center city Charlotte. The Women's event starts at 6:00pm followed by the Men's event at 7:30pm, pre race festivities begin 1 hour before the women's event. The event is part of the USA Cycling's National Criterium Calendar (NCC) the USA CRITS National Series and attracts Professional riders from around the world.

The event will be spectator friendly and will be held on a 1.2 mile course in center city Charlotte.

Be sure to look for the official race guide at the Criterium featuring information on racers and sponsors of the event. Find a copy at the Expo area and bins throughout the course. Race photographs in the guide are courtesy of Weldon Weaver

The most elite cycling teams will be invited to participate in the criterium.

William A. Hough High School Presents ANNIE the musical, this weekend in the Hough Auditorium.

The Hough Theatre Department is excited to present the school's first musical performance with the accompaniment of the Hough band.

Show times are: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, March 8th—10th at 7:00 PM; Sunday, March 11th at 3:00 PM

Tickets available at the door. Students $8 Adults $10
